Database Server #1 Ordered

We placed the order for our first big database server. When this and the other servers we ordered come in, we’ll have the needed hardware to do our initial beta launch.

Unfortunately, it will also take time to configure all the servers and set up all the little features in the software that are needed for a hosted service, but we’ve avoided setting up for the alpha.

No time estimates - just a status report.

    No, we went with a server from ASA Computers.

    We got a 4U dual proc. server and redundant power supply with 8GB of RAM and 8×250GB HD (hot-swappable, 2 in RAID 1 and 6 in RAID 5). And of course, the on-site service.

    We are, as they say, fully invested at this point. :)
